Background information
On the eve of COP28 the IEA will publish Energy Efficiency 2023, its latest Market Report which examines the global energy efficiency landscape and identifies key trends for governments.
This year’s report comes amid the enduring effects of multiple global crises and increasing urgency for stronger action to keep the 1.5 °C goal within reach. A main theme of this year’s report is the need to double global progress on energy efficiency this decade to get on track for net zero by 2050.
