Achieving Net Zero Electricity Sectors in G7 Members
The report on Achieving net zero electricity sectors in G7 members was commissioned by the United Kingdom Presidency of the G7 and focuses on how G7 countries could accelerate reducing their emissions from electricity. The report builds on the recent report Net Zero by 2050: A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector, and looks at the current state of play of electricity in the G7, moving on to analyse the steps needed to achieve net zero emissions from electricity, while considering wider implications for energy security, employment and affordability. G7 Leaders have shown political leadership through their commitment to reach net zero emissions no later than 2050, and being a first mover can create spill-over benefits and support other countries' energy transitions.
