Energy Technology Perspectives 2020 dataset
Includes projections at global level for the Sustainable Development Scenario (SDS) based on detailed modelling of the energy sector using the ETP Model
The Energy Technology Perspectives (ETP) 2020 dataset includes projections at global level for the Sustainable Development Scenario (SDS) based on detailed modelling of the energy sector using the ETP Model.
The dataset provides insights into sub-sectoral trends beyond the data and figures published in the report, given the focus of the report on technology opportunities in heavy industries and long-distance transport in particular.
The dataset contains global 2019 and projected data related to the SDS from ETP-2020 including:
- Energy balance
- Power sector overview covering gross electricity generation, installed capacity
- CO2 emissions
- World activity by sector
The Sustainable Development Scenario is the IEA's primary long-term climate mitigation pathway. It reaches net-zero emissions by the year 2070 and as such is fully compatible with the temperature goals of the Paris Agreement. It also aims at achieving other United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular to achieve access energy for all and to minimise air pollution.
