The concentration is calculated as the inverse of the linearised Nearest Neighbour Index, which is a mathematical representation of how clustered or dispersed each category is, calculated via the ratio of the observed mean distance to the expected mean distance. Power plants include both conventional facilities as well as renewable energy systems. The Stated Policies Scenario takes into account the current landscape of policies, regulations and market trends, but does not assume that national and international climate goals are met.
