Notes

The base case assumes a fuel mix of 33% coal, 33% diesel and 33% natural gas with a global average emissions intensity for electricity (463 gCO2/kWh). The high-carbon and low-carbon electricity cases assume 600 gCO2/kWh and 240 gCO2/kWh, respectively, and renewables are assumed to be carbon neutral. The electrification case assumes 50% of the energy demand from fuel consumption becomes electrified.
