Parking space management

Last updated: 5 November 2017
Parking space management in cities is an efficient way of restricting motorised individual traffic; and at the same time improving the parking space for urban freight traffic, residential and short-duration parking. As a result, more people will use public transport facilities or bicycles, with significant effects on the overall traffic situation. In the year 2007, parking space management in central areas was applied in 103 Austrian communities, among them the largest Austrian cities Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Innsbruck. In the majority of cases the maximum duration for parking is limited to 1.5 hours. The average costs for parking is € 0.50 for 30 minutes.
