2030 GHG reduction commitment

At the US Leaders' Climate Summit, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced GHG reduction emissions by 40 to 45% below 2005 levels by 2030, and net zero emissions by 2050. Under its federal budget commitment, there would be increased spending to finance Canada's climate plan and exceed the 2030 GHG Emissions targets, by including new investment tax credit for CCUS, growing the net-zero economy (including enhancing Canada's supply of critical minerals) and strengthening climate resilience.
