National Budget 2021- Support for carbon neutrality in the maritime and port fields

To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the Japanese government allocated JPY 800 million to develop low carbon technologies in the maritime sector, more specifically: 

 

1) to establish gas-fuelled ships,

 

2) upgrade port functions to expand the use of next-generation energy, 

 

3) promote offshore wind power generation, and 

 

4) support innovative construction machinery.
